Matt Rhead, FA Cup hero and striker for Lincoln City dropped into M&M Vehicle Repairs in Longton for a quick word with his biggest fan and harshest critic – his wife Laura!
Matt who still lives in his home city of Stoke-on-Trent has made the headlines recently as Lincoln City, of the Vanarama National League, became the first non-league team in over 100 years to reach the last eight of the FA cup since Queens Park Rangers in 1914, beating Championship side Ipswich Town and Premier League Burnley on the way and have now reached the quarter finals and face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sat 11/3/17 which looks to be a fantastic match with crowd capacity of 60,000.
Laura, who works in the customer service team at M&M commented: “We have received so much media attention since Lincoln City started their cup run. Matt is not used to the limelight, so luckily he’s got myself and our two children Esme & Isla to keep him firmly grounded.
Matt said: “Lincoln’s cup run has been incredible so far. We face a huge challenge at Arsenal but this is what we do and we are all looking forward to it. The supporters have been great and are in for a real treat as you can expect us to throw everything at them. The media attention has been amazing and great for the club.
